How to set up Nomad: step by step
- Check that your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked (see which phones support eSIM).
- Download the Nomad app or open the Nomad website, then choose your destination and data amount.
- Buy the plan and wait for the QR code or the in-app install button.
- Install the eSIM on Wi-Fi before you travel. iPhone: Settings > Cellular (Mobile Data) > Add eSIM. Android: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add eSIM (menu names vary by brand).
- On arrival, set mobile data to the travel eSIM and turn on data roaming for that eSIM only.
